Role: Music Maker
I’ve been writing electronic music since I was 10. I do sound design for living. "Spaceman’s Small Step" was written for my album SPACEMAN FAR AWAY FROM HOME, which is about exploration and curiosity, discoveries, challenges, loneliness and love. And about space, of course.
Mr. Eeben also creates video games! The Final Wormtier is his award-winning Greenrunner game.
1. Some Favorite Childhood Music
I liked electronic music, progressive rock and jazz. Artists such as Jean Michel Jarre, Chick Corea, Pekka Pohjola, Miles Davis and Mike Oldfield.
2. Favorite Childhood Games
Ultima series on Commodore 64 was brilliant. So was Hack on PC. Many other video games, too many to remember. Also we played Advanced Dungeons & Dragons with friends, but then one of the players ate our horses in the middle of a desert. We stopped there. At school, I liked Finnish baseball, and hated soccer and skiing.
3. Favorite School Subjects
Art, Music, English, Math, Finnish, Science. I liked pretty much everything, but never did any homework. Sorry to say that! :-)
4. Some Favorite Places from Youth
The tree houses and snow castles we built in the nearby forest. The nearby lake too.
5. Childhood Heroes
MacGyver and Michael Knight (characters, not the actors), Esa Saarinen (Philosopher), Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway and Jeroen Tel (Commodore 64 game music composers), Douglas Adams and J. R. R. Tolkien (Authors). But I think I never really idolized anyone much.
6. Dream Super Powers
Swimming. I can't swim. Flying would be nice too.
